Newt & Anole

The Green Anole, or American Chameleon is a fairly easy lizard to keep. They stay fairly small and are mostly tail. As indicated by chameleon, they do change colour from bright emerald green to brown or grey. I don't have any now, but I did have a pair that would lay eggs. Though none of them hatched. You have to be very careful when feeding them. They only eat live prey (crickets mostly) and they will try to swallow one that is bigger than their heads. I lost my female to choking. Never caught it in time so after she was gone, the male died of loneliness. He stopped eating and drinking and wasted away to nothing. Force feeding didn't help. He was the strongest of the two.
